Welcome from Our Founder, Kae Jae

Welcome to the Residents of Color Collective (ROCC)—a space rooted in love, resilience, and the unwavering belief that our communities hold the power to transform and shape futures.

I’m Kae Jae Johnson, and I founded ROCC in 2019 with a vision to uplift and unite communities of color through equity, celebration, and collaboration. My journey has been shaped by decades of grassroots organizing, youth mentorship, and cultural advocacy. From leading neighborhood coalitions to curating spaces for joy and healing, I’ve witnessed firsthand the brilliance and strength that emerge when we center our voices and values.

Residents of Color Collective is more than an organization—it’s an extension of the families we serve. We are here to amplify, to connect, and to build. Whether you’re a resident, a partner, or an ally, you are part of this story. Together, we ROCC (rock).

In Love and Community,

Kae Jae Johnson Founder, Residents of Color Collective
